3 Steps to Get the Right Focus

Hello mamas!

I’m sure you’ve worked out your own planning ways to handle mommy duties and your business must’s. It’s indeed tough with a lot of to-do’s on both sides. At times even overwhelming just looking at what you want to accomplish in a day. And you know what? No matter how much of the to-do lists I have checked, I still feel short of what I could have done for the day. Have you felt the same way?

I realized I have been focusing much of my time and energy on the little tasks. It took me a while to finally dig into my daily habits and put a new perspective on how I deal with my mompreneur days. I still continue working on my daily planning as it takes a while to get used to this new habit but am seeing a much better outcome, feeling more accomplished and able to manage my energy more effectively.

Here are some of my personal tips on how you can optimize your days so you’ll end each day grateful, fulfilled and happy.

If you still haven’t got my free Daily Inspiration Planner, get yours now and let me walk you through this simple easy-to-use everyday tool.

End the day planning for tomorrow.

Isn’t it great looking forward to another amazing day? Write on your Daily Inspiration Planner, a night before, your 3 main goals for the day. I usually assign each goal to family, business and personal.

We only have limited hours and amount of energy in a day so let’s use it wisely. Don’t be frustrated if you don’t achieve all (this I always tell myself) but make sure to achieve one that matters most to you.

Your to do list connects to your goals. So list down activities that will help you achieve each of your goal. This way, you get to focus your activities on the goals you have set.

If any of your goals is left unfulfilled, always remember there is still tomorrow. Maybe you can make it your number 1 goal for the next day. *wink

Instead of immediately jotting down all the things you want or need to do for the day, simply start with a positive thought.

Your attitude dictates your aptitude.

Write down your positive thought the night before on your Daily Inspiration Planner so you can reinforce it the moment you wake up.

Then list down all that you are grateful for. You may also add more to your list at the end of the day. This way you get to start and end each day with gratitude. Isn’t it an excellent way to keep a happy heart?

Your positive thought can also be linked to your goals. Let’s say my thought for the day is –
“Today is a great day to be creative”

My main goals become:
1. Do at least 1 creative activity with family
2. Find creative ways to promote my business
3. Express myself creatively today

Then my to do-list goes something like this:
1. Paint with Iyah
2. Make a banana cake with Iyah for snacks
3. Create a graphic for my facebook page post
4. Create a video ad
5. Write on my journal
And the list goes on for other tasks…

You may use the Daily Inspiration Planner any way that best suits you. Bottom line — you start each day with a positive thought and always learn to be grateful no matter how tough the day may seem. Always align your activities to your goals for the day so you’ll find focus and able to fulfill at least one goal everyday. *smile

You can improve what you have measured.

The best way to make more of your days happier and with enough vigor is to have an honest assessment of it so you can do something about it.

At the end of each day, simply rate your happiness and energy level. Then find out what makes you feel a bit down and sluggish.

When I started rating my days, I realized that only 50% of my week were at the happiness and energy levels that I seek. Then I started understanding why.

Guess what I found out?

I had self-inflicted stress simply due to all the to-do list I want to complete and was unable to. I felt that I had to kind of work overtime or push myself more ’cause am not getting the results that I need. I neglected the fact that I had to manage my energy well, learn to prioritize and focus on what matters most.

Slowly I started changing my ways and how I deal with my daily activities. It’s not always a perfect week. There are still days that I feel a bit down and sluggish but am able to work it through. Definitely, it has now become “an always grateful week” and am able to keep more happier and healthier days. *happy dance

I hope you also find your way through each day to make it more enjoyable, find value and substance on the the things you do each day.
